The downturn in the economy has caused many to curtail their spending, especially when it comes to entertainment and activities with friends and family. While this can feel disconcerting, it could be viewed as an opportunity to get back to basics and reconnect.

Instead of going out to eat with friends or family, get-togethers can be pot luck, backyard barbeque, followed by some tried and true card or board games. The laughter often generated by these interactions will have people.

“Unplug” the kids from video games and social media to play a game of waffle ball, badminton, or have a hearty water balloon fight. Although kids find video games a form of entertainment, they will more than likely treasure the memories of making homemade ice cream and backyard touch football games.
